The Calm before Hurricane Matthew...

Outfit Details

Dress: Old Navy

Umbrella: I got it in Florence, Italy when I was a little girl.

Hurricane Matthew is coming and I have been preparing for days. I woke up, checked news about the storm, and got dressed. With the heavy rain in the forecast, I broke out my favorite Hunter boots, and paired them with a effortlessly simple gray plaid dress.

Yesterday when I went to the store, they were sold out of water, shelves of food were gone, and panic stricken consumers filled the aisles. While watching the mayhem around me unfold at the store, I pondered this question to myself, how prepared are we when the storms of life come charging our way?

I have been lucky to have lived through many hard times in my life. I have learned from them and have become stronger for them. I choose to be the victor of my life and not the victim.

Through my faith, I have been able to gain knowledge, learn from the lords example and prepare myself for the unexpected hard times of life.

If I did not have this knowledge, stored in my soul, the hard times would have been my own personal hurricane.

Whatever your belief system, there is always room for hope. Hope of the future, hope for better days, hope for the lessons that trials bring.

Please don't loose your hope.

You are stronger then you know and can do hard things.

From all that I have learned in my life, our minds are our reality makers. We can choose how we see adversities and choose how we will let them affect our lives.

Look up and find the sun break in your life. It's always sunny before the storm. Prepare now.

Love, Sem xoxo
