My husband and I won these Fringe fundraiser VIP tickets at the Orlando Shakespeare Gala last Sept 2015..
After we got the tickets we both were asking ourselves...
What the Fringe?
After some research we found that, The Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival takes place in and around Loch Haven Park, and lasts 13 days leading up to Memorial Day.
The Orlando Fringe Festival is an outdoor event where about “500 uncensored and non-juried performances,” get a chance to debut in front of live audiences and “gives 100% of all sales back to the artist.”
Fringe is a unique form of theatre, and stands out for its uncensored performances that break limits and help exam different parts of the human experience.
Most plays are for mature audiences 18+
There is a kids Fringe during this time that is more family friendly.
The Fringe Festival is celebrating their 25th year in Orlando FL, and is the longest running Fringe Festival in the United States.
Back to the main event…
The Orlando Fringe Gala (Feb 29 2016) was held at the Beautiful Hard Rock Live Orlando venue, which is located at Universal's City Walk. The gala was complete with food, mingling, a silent auction, and entertainment.
This year the long-time Orlando Fringe Favorite, The Oops Guys, hosted the Gala. It was a great event filled with many laughs and unexpected moments…
